The Spanish Consul at Shanghai has reported

that the british authorities at Hongkong have held up

a consignment of guts addressed to Messrs. Canella

Fompido of barcelona. I am instructed by the

Minister of State to inform Your Excellency of the

above and I venture to hope that you will be so good

as to give the necessary directions to the authorities

already mentioned in order that the goods may be no

longer detained.
